London - Tips, Prices, Atractions
England is probably the first dream of most travelers.
When I was still in high school, a trip to London was something very unattainable for me, something "WOW"!
When I was in the second year of a technical school (yes, I know, I mentioned high school above, it was because I changed schools) there was a program thanks to which students had the opportunity to go to England for over 2 months.
We lived in Plymouth, but during our stay in UK we had a one-day trip to London.
Walking along Oxford Street I heard more Polish than English, seriously!
Described as beautiful and magical - certainly not exaggerated.
The city is like any other, but there is something timeless about it.
What to see?
❶ Tower Bridge
A famous bridge over the Thames.
The current blue and white color scheme has only existed since 2010.
Initially, the bridge was in a beige tone, and in 1977, it was repainted in blue, white, and red.
❷ London Bridge
In the medieval period, the bridge required constant repairs, so it was dismantled.
In 1968, it was sold to an American entrepreneur who used blocks from the original structure to build its replica. The existing bridge, open to traffic since 1973, connects the Southwark district and the City of London.
❸ London Eye
A tourist attraction and viewpoint in the Lambeth district, it has been operating since 2000. The Ferris wheel stands at a height of 135 meters. One revolution takes about 30 minutes, rotating slowly enough for passengers to board without the need to stop the wheel.
❹ Buckingham Palace
The largest royal palace in the world!
It is here that you can see the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony, where you can try to provoke them, but they won't flinch.
From April to July, a ceremonial changing of the guard takes place daily at 11:30 in front of the palace.
❺ Big Ben
The clock tower, officially named "Elizabeth Tower" since 2012 to honor Queen Elizabeth II's
60-year reign. In 2017, renovation of the clock began, expected to last for four years.
❻ Kensington Palace
A spectacular residence of the British royal family since the 17th century.
Today, the palace serves as a royal apartment building.
Members of the royal family without separate residences receive luxurious apartments here.
The largest apartment has 21 rooms!
➐ Oxford Street
Arguably the most famous street in London, home to over 300 shops!
Oxford Street is featured as one of the squares on the British version of the Monopoly board.
➑ Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Marie Tussaud arrived in London in 1835 with wax casts of beheaded aristocrats from the French Revolution. These became the nucleus of an enormous collection of wax figures.
Today, the Madame Tussauds Museum is renowned for life-sized wax figures of film, music, and sports celebrities.
➒ Westminster Palace
The seat of the British House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Since 1987, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
➓ Notting Hill
A district with colorful terraced houses, considered very affluent.
It hosts upscale shops, and in August, the Caribbean-style carnival takes place here.
Many may associate it with the film of the same name, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in the lead roles. (I recommend watching it!)

If you insist, you can see all 10 points in one day, but personally, I recommend a 3-day trip to not only see but also truly enjoy these attractions. ⇑ ⇑ ⇑
There's a lot happening on the streets of London: events, parades, demonstrations, festivals...
I had the opportunity to see the Gay Pride Parade, and to top it off, it was a NUDE parade!
It was strange to see so many people in one place walking around naked. 😄

TIPS:
When getting around London, it's best to get an Oyster Card, either online or directly on the spot. The deposit for the card is only £5, and you get it back upon returning the card.
For economical shopping, it's best to visit stores like ASDA or TESCO.
It's a good idea to have a money belt for documents and cash to outsmart pickpockets.
Bring an empty water bottle with filter to save up money.
When looking for accommodation, I recommend using the AirBnB app; you can find a place near Oxford Street starting from £10!
In my opinion, and I believe not only mine, London is definitely an incredible, magical, and charming city that everyone should visit at least once in their life.
