It belongs to the Canary Islands archipelago and is located near the north-western coast of Africa, adjacent to Tenerife, from which it is only 60 km away.

Therefore, it falls under the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The average annual temperature on the island is 23°C ☀️

In the winter season, i.e. from November to April the temperature ranges from 20°C,

and in the summer season, from May to October within 25°C.

Of course, the perceived temperature is much higher in the summer season, especially on days without sea breeze.

Interesting Facts

Madonna's song "La Isla Bonita" describes La Palma.

Although the singer never said it directly and maintains that the song describes an imaginary place, the island's inhabitants confirm that every word in the song reflects the island - names, places, emotions.

Not only the inhabitants of the island insist on this truth - brochures, on the Internet and in guides also confirm that it was La Palma that the Madonna sang about.

La Palma is called the greenest island in the Canary Islands archipelago.

It is a perfect place for those who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, due to the fact that there are a small number of tourists and the hotels are not crowded next to each other.

Since the 19th century until today, most of the inhabitants of La Palma have been cultivating bananas; banana plantations constitute as much as 70% of the arable land.

You can see them everywhere! They look like banana jungles.

The last volcanic eruption on the island took place only 49 years ago

in 1971 and it was Teneguia Volcano.
